Here is my plea. My one time I am going to beg for something on my Christmas list. (okay, not really the 'one time') I need a new handheld mixer. Now, I put things like this on my list and no one ever gets me this kind of thing. I asked for a label maker two years in a row and never received it. I could have gone and bought it myself, but that wasn't the point. I don't need jewelry or new clothes (well, actually, I do need new clothes). What I want most is a really good handheld mixer. I am a lazy baker and don't want to kill myself stirring dough to make cookies.
Today I was making pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting for Bunco tonight. My current mixer is in sad shape and it is a peril to myself and to others. However, I did use it to make the frosting. The lingering burning motor smell that hangs in the air will hopefully pass before Ron makes it home. As I was taking the beaters out of the mixer I noticed that rust has eaten its way almost completely through the stem part of the beater. I could probably break it completely off with little effort. Hopefully the rust doesn't cause any long-term illnesses to those who eat the bars.
So, to my 3 faithful readers. One of you should buy me a handheld mixer for Christmas.

here's the thing: you are going to do a lot of baking in preparation for Christmas. right? (please say yes cause I love your treats...)
so shouldn't you just buy a new mixer now so you can bake this winter without rust and smoke?
I bought you a label maker... I just wanted it to be surprise... :)
I think you'll get 3 mixers this year.
Jerry complained that he's asked for a Hawkeye polo shirt for 2 years and not received it yet. I'm getting him the mixer.
mom
i think Joy should buy you a mixer. she's a loyal reader of this blog (she likes Gavin's questions).
So I should expect a Hawkeye Polo shirt from mom, a mixer from Joy, and nothing from Olivia. Joy, looks like I am sending you all my Christmas goodies!!!
I was gonna get you a car... but a mixer is good.

So if I'm getting you the mixer. I always tell Pete to get me a massage and he never does. Is that what I can expect from you?
Your mixer sounds really scary. There's nothing like the smell of burning motor to make you happy that you spent time baking.
By the way, the best thing that Pete and I started doing is making amazon.com wish lists. You can find just about everything on amazon.com.
