The Wasps have surrendered

Our massive counter-attack worked!! The wasps have been defeated with only a few stragglers waving their white flags and pleading for mercy. Ron has no mercy, though, and he takes their white flag and beats them with it. I now have 5 beautiful tomatoes sitting on my counter.

The Wasps have joined the fight!

The caterpillars have enlisted the wasps in the fight over the tomato plants. The caterpillars know my weaknesses, but I will not go down without a fight!! I will be pulling out my secret weapon. Ron and RAID!!

I will hum the Battle Hymn of the Republic as we pursue our counter-attack....

Slip-n-Slide

Remember the old Slip-n-Slides? They are new and improved!! Gavin received his first slip-n-slide and these new slides have water spraying out of the sides of it and a cushioned end to slide into. He hasn't figured out the sliding part, but he loves to crawl through the spray. Oh, to be a kid again!!

RAGBRAI

RAGBRAI is coming through town. It was so exciting to see all the bikes going by and all the fun that they are having. Next year I will hopefully be among those people again. I am so excited!!!

I can still hear the caterpillars screaming...

My awesome tomato plants are being devoured by ugly green caterpillars. I tried to rescue as many of these monsters by calling on all of the neighborhood kids to come and adopt them. I thought that we had gotten most if not all of them, however, after spraying the garden with insecticide, I found that we missed a few (eight). What does insecticide do to ugly green caterpillars? It makes them go berzerk, they arch their heads way off of the leaves and then they have caterpillar seizures. There heads wave back and forth. I couldn't watch the killing anymore so I had to walk away from the garden. When I returned to the garden an hour later all of the caterpillars were gone. I believe they have ascended into caterpillar heaven.

What a Weekend!!

We kept Uncle Bud very busy by going out to eat, visiting the mall, checking out the Taste of Des Moines, and visiting all the family!!!

Uncle Bud is coming to visit today. It's about time!!! Gavin is really excited and Max would be if he knew what was going on. :)

I made the most awesome jewelry ever!!! I will try and get a pic of it to post. I made a matching necklace, bracelet, earings and ring. Now I am in the mood to make lots of jewelry. Now I need to learn how to make clothes to go with my jewelry!!

TGIF

Today was quite the busy day! Gavin went to spend the night at Grandma Gree's house. He was so excited to go to Grandma's!

Tomorrow I am going to a "How to make your own jewelry class" at Michael's. Hopefully I can make all that cool jewelry that currenlty costs me a fortune to buy!!

I'm Tired!!!

I am soooo tired. Max woke up at about 1 am last night and was up for about an hour and a half. He is coming down with a cold and so his nose was stuffy. Of course, I am writing this while he is taking a nap!!

I love Super Target. I just bought this really cute skirt for $6.50!!! Where else can you find decent styles for prices like that?! Plus, I found two shirts that I also really liked and they didn't make my checkbook cry.

Vacation Bible School

Gavin went to VBS last night. He came home and told me that Jesus was his best friend and nobody else's. I think he might need to go back to get some clarification on that.
