A turning point

I am excited to report that I have accepted a position with DHS of Polk County! It is so crazy to think that I have been doing childcare for 5 years. There are a lot of things that I am going to miss and a lot that I won't miss. As with any job, there are good and bad things about being home all the time. I am grateful that I have been able to do it, though. I wouldn't change anything about the past 5 years!

Round 'em up!

Kindergarten round up was last week and Gavin had a wonderful time! His favorite part, of course, was recess. That was all he talked about. In fact, he said he couldn't remember doing anything else the whole time except for recess. Luckily the teachers send notes home and I found out that Gavin is right where he should be for Kindergarten. He recognized all but 4 letters. He can hop, skip, and jump. He can count to 20 without making a mistake. He can write his name. He knows shapes and colors. And an added bonus- he knows how to tie his shoes!! I am so excited for him and proud of him! He is really excited about Kindergarten and said he wished he could go every day. That will happen soon enough!!!
