Put this on the dumb things list....

Max got his hand stuck in the ball popper. We had to use dish soap to get it out!! Hopefully he will learn his lesson and not do that again!

Max turns 2!!

Max's birthday was Memorial Day. We had such a busy weekend Max almost slept through the whole day! After we packed up from camping we headed home. Of course the kids wouldn't take a nap so by the time we went out to eat that evening they were EXHAUSTED!! We did make it to IHOP, though, (kids eat free on Mondays!!) and Sydney Storm- the balloon animal guy- stopped and made some balloon animals for the kids. After dinner we came home and opened a few presents.

Today we celebrated with the day care kids. Strawberry cake... YUM!

Sittin' By the Fire

Memorial weekend was spent at Saylorville Lake on a camping excursion. We definitely need to do this more often. It rained on Saturday so we came home for a while instead of hanging out in the tent. The rest of the weekend was perfect and we spent it cooking over a fire, roasting marshmallows, going fishing, and just gettin' dirty.

**Did I also mention Max got into the poison ivy. GOOD TIMES!!!

Preschool award ceremony

Gavin had his preschool award ceremony. He officially graduated from the Ladybug preschool class of 2007. His name was called, he received an award and stood up on the platform to have his picture taken. The whole time Max cried because he wanted an award also. In the end he settled for having his picture taken on the platform. :)

Men are from Mars

We recently bought a new washing machine after our old one stopped draining the water out of the wash tub. Our new washing machine is, frankly, beautiful. I can say that because I do about 20 loads of laundry a week. It has fancy buttons, blinking lights, and other "high-tech" stuff. Basically, all I have to do is press start and the machine does the rest.

So here is the ultimate question. How can a man- who can rewire a surround sound system in 2 minutes flat, can plumb and set an entire bathroom, and who can finish an entire basement with only a little direction- screw up washing clothes?

I have explained it three times and referred to the manual. He screws it up. I told him,"Don't touch the washing machine. I will do the laundry when I get back." But NOOOOO, for once he "tries to be helpful". What do I get?????? I get all of my laundry washed in hot water. My new cotton t-shirts-now fit my 5 year old neice. My brand new jeans I bought last week. Are now high-waters. Not that it really matters since I can't button them up now anyway.

HEY!! THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!!!

New Rule: Never, Ever, Ever, under any circumstance, wash my clothes. EVER!!!!!

PLAAAAYYYY BALLLLLL!!!!!!!!

Gavin had his first ball game yesterday. It is so fun to watch all the little kids chasing the ball and running the bases! (It takes a very long time for a four year old to run around all of the bases!)

Max threw a fit because he couldn't be out on the field playing like his big brother. He ended up doing his second favorite thing---EATING!!!

Mother's Day Tea

Gavin's preschool presented a mother's day tea. The room was all decorated and all of the moms sat at a table. The kids walked in and sang a few songs. It was soooo cute!!!! Mother Goose came in and read a story and then the kids all sat by their mothers and had a snack of apple juice and mini-muffins. We then got to decorate a piece of paper with pictures and stickers for a scrap book.

I am so proud to be Gavin's mom!!!
